Holiday style

When it comes to packing for a trip, I just cant seem to pack light. I spend hours thinking through outfits, combinations and generally try my best to edit a few times before I shut the case. But this trip, I didn't even attempt to cull. It's felt like we've had a year of winter in Sydney and I was desperate to leave the pants, boots and long sleeves behind and dig out all of my beloved dresses and skirts. Bright colours, bare skin, sandals, bring. it on! I couldn't wait to crack out the summer pieces that I had bought throughout Winter but not had a chance to wear yet so, they ALL came with me. Along with four swimsuits, five pairs of shoes and a jewellery box full of accessories.

Needless to say, checking in my bags is always a rather anxious experience as the numbers rise on the scales. Am I alone in this or do you have the same dilemma?

Yes I know, I make an extremely awkward model. But fashion is definitely a form of personal expression for me and I'm not kidding when I say that wearing summer clothes was a highlight of the holiday for me! One of many.

As if packing to my baggage limit wasn't enough, while waiting at the airport to leave Sydney, I wandered into the Tigerlily store under the lure of tax free shopping and soon, strutted out with this lovely new maxi skirt and tank. Holiday indulgences off to a flying start.

I love Tigerlily and this outfit feels sophisticated yet effortless and and best of all, it's comfy. A perfect holiday outfit!

One day hopefully, I'll have to pack for travelling with kids as well, thus forcing my hand in packing light. Until then, if you have any hot tips on how to pack light without sacrificing style options, do share. My husband would appreciate it!

  2. You look so gorgeous! Love the summery long skirts. I'm a jeans-almost-every-day girl, but hanker for some lovely skirts like these. xx

  3. I too cant wait for the weather to warm up and start wearing long skirts and short sleeve tops. You are still as gorgeous as ever dear Billie. When you pack with kids, they usually take up most of the bag and you're left with just the essentials, you pack lightly for yourself because you have no choice lol xxx
